5 Ways To Cultivate Self-Compassion

5 Ways To Cultivate Self-Compassion
Enhance your happiness with these 5 techniques.

Have you ever measured yourself against someone else and come out feeling second best? You’re certainly not alone. No one’s perfect and most people feel inadequate in some way. Understanding this and developing a little self-compassion will enhance your happiness and confidence. Here are five quick ways to do just that.

  • Be kind to yourself. Start and finish the day gently. Give yourself this gift every day.
  • At the end of each day, have some quiet time during which you dwell on what you’ve done well that day.
  • When you make a mistake, stop your critical voice and remind yourself that it’s okay – you don’t need to be perfect.
  • Do one self-nurturing thing every week (every day is better). It might be a massage, a bath, wearing a favourite outfit, or cooking a lovely meal.
  • When you look in the mirror, really look. Acknowledge the beautiful person inside and out that is looking back at you.
