5 ways to a fabulous Long Weekend
The long weekend is almost here! We share some ideas to make the most of the four-day break.

The Easter long weekend is upon us and you can almost hear the collective “yay!” from workplaces and schools everywhere.

If you’re planning an indulgent staycation, a quick sprint away or braving the crowds, read on.

bath

INDULGE – Grab a cosy blanket and get reacquainted with your couch. Watch that TV series you’ve been hearing about from start to finish. Relax while giving your brain a boost with some puzzles. Read that novel that’s been crying out to be read on your bedside table or soak in a long luxurious candle-lit bath using indulgent bath products.

picnic

ROLL OUT THE PICNIC RUG – Remember that picnic basket you were gifted and never used? This is the time to use it. Pack some wine and something delicious, and head to one of our stunning city parks or the mountains. If you’ve been cooped up in an office or a classroom laying around with family and friends watching the world roll by is heaven.

juice

HEALTH KICK – They say if you do anything three days in a row it becomes a habit so grab this chance to get your mind, body and spirit in order. Use the time to squeeze in a longer work out. Using the extra time to get your fitness level up can give your endurance a boost. Make a healthy immunity boosting juice and be sure to keep your sleep cycle regular. Recent research suggests lack of sleep can bring on weight gain, and getting into a bad habit will leave you feeling tired and grumpy when it’s time to head back to work on Tuesday.

Eastershow

EASTER SHOW – If cabin fever starts to set in, a sure-fire cure is the Sydney or Streets Easter show in Auckland. Get amongst the cacophony and the crowds and soak up all these institutions have to offer. If spending up big on show bags isn’t your thing, head to the animal and food exhibits, watch a grand parade or cheer at the various competitions.

train

THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED– Want to get away, but not too far away? Explore delights not too far from your doorstep by planning daytrips to suburbs you don’t usually visit. Trip the light rail fantastic or hop on a train and see where you end up. Eat Sydney’s most authentic Vietnamese in Cabramatta. Traverse the outer suburbs in search of the best sliders or banh mi. Grab your camera and take a street art tour. If you’re in W.A enjoy the pleasant weather with enchanted walks through towns like Manjimup and Bridgetown.
