Anne Hathaway, known for her roles in Disney’s The Princess Diaries and The Devil Wears Prada, has confirmed her engagement to Adam Shulman after dating for three years, but has told media that her husband-to-be “ruined” her plan.

Hathaway, 29, began dating Shulman after her long-term relationship to Raffaello Follieri fell victim to his infamous fraud charges. Following the split, Hathaway has told US Weekly that she was looking forward to being single, but that meeting Shulman changed all that.

“I am very much in love with him, [only] Adam totally ruined my plan,” Hathaway said. “I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool!”

JK Rowling has joined the raft of celebrities including Hugh Grant and Sienna Miller speaking out over tabloid harassment.

The creator of the multi-million-dollar Harry Potter brand revealed during a two hour testimony that a note had been slipped into her young daughter’s schoolbag by a journalist and that she had chased a paparazzo photographer down the street when he tried to take a picture of her with her children.

Mother-of-three Rowling labelled the behaviour “spiteful.””This doesn’t apply to the whole of the press but the attitude seems to be utterly cavalier, indifference, what does it matter, you’re famous, you’re asking for it,” she said.Rowling was speaking as part of the Leveson inquiry into British media standards.

Three people have pleaded guilty to charges of conspiring to commit fraud, having told elderly members of the public that the US government had changed laws regulating toilet paper, encouraging them to buy specially formulated rolls.

“Through this scheme, some elderly customers were defrauded into purchasing more than 70 years worth of toilet paper,” federal prosecutors in Miami said in a news release.

At least 15 people from around the US reportedly fell victim to the fraud.

While the rest of the world may still be talking about the aftermath of Kim Kardashian’s short-lived wedding, we’ve moved on to a story regarding another powerful lady.

Having reigned as Queen of Britain and Ireland for over sixty years, it’s not surprising that possessions once owned by Queen Victoria would fetch a pretty penny under the hammer. But no one expected a pair of ample bloomers once owned by the monarch to sell for quite as much as they did.

An anonymous buyer reportedly paid 9,375 pounds (around AU$14,500) for the white silk underwear during an auction in Edinburgh – more than three times the original estimate.

After just 72 days of wedded bliss, Kim Kardashian has filed for a divorce from her second husband, Kris Humphries, citing irreconcilable differences. The move groups Kardashian with the likes of Brittany Spears and Renee Zellwegger, both of whom have enjoyed equally brief marriages.

After some speculation, the news was confirmed by US TV and radio personality Ryan Seacrest, who also produces the reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Talk show host Piers Morgan has been quick to calculate the profit that Kardashian made from her brief second-marriage.

“Kim Kardashian sold the rights to her wedding for $17.9 million. Her marriage lasted 72 days. That comes to a nifty $10,358.80 per hour,”  he tweeted.
