Watch stunning drone footage take you through the Christchurch Cathedral, five years on from the devastating Canterbury quake.

A drone has been used to capture footage and gather information about the state of the Christchurch Cathedral from the inside. The Cathedral, which was initially damaged as a result of the 2011 Canterbury earthquakes, has suffered subsequent damage from on-going aftershocks.

As engineers attempt to assess the situation from the outside, due to the lack of structural integrity inside, it is yet to be decided what the fate of the building will be.

Watch the entrancing footage below.
