Queen’s staff threaten strike action
Queen Elizabeth II could be facing industrial action by her Windsor Castle staff for the first time in history.

The trade union representing 120 of the 200 staff at Windsor Castle is holding a ballot on possible industrial action this week over pay.

If they do vote to strike it will be a history making event according to the Public and Commercial Services Union, making it the first strike ever by staff working for the royal family.

The trade union claims that already low-paid staff are expected to carry out extra unpaid duties, like giving tours, and that they should be paid extra for these “goodwill” duties.
