Gurrumul and The Sydney Symphony Orchestra release record
Gurrumul releases Sydney Symphony Orchestra collaboration 'His Life And Music’ in time for Christmas.

Multi-ARIA Award winning artist Gurrumul and The Sydney Symphony Orchestra are releasing His Life And Music in time for Christmas.

Recorded live at the Sydney Opera House in May 2013, the album features a new side to the national treasure – who Rolling Stone once declared Australia’s most important voice – featuring his world-first collaborative effort with the acclaimed Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Performing some of his favourite tracks, Gurrumul, a member of the Gumatj clan off the north coast of Arnhem Land who was born blind, has garnered a strong international following and countless musical accolades for his resonant songs about the land, spirit and identities of his ancestors. His eponymous debut album sold half a million copies worldwide.

His Life And Music features introductions from Gurrumul’s family, offering rare insights into some of the tracks. The record complements the hardback book of the same name, which was published in May 2013 by ABC Books.
