Markets in May

Markets in May  is a month long initiative that focusses on bringing people back into the community and showcasing the incredible talent of local producers. Celebrating the vast array of markets around Sydney, Markets in May is now in its third year.

For a whole month, The Beaches Markets, Brewery Yard Markets and The Blak Markets will take over Martin Place, bringing their unique offerings to market-goers every Thursday from the 5th till the 19th.

Organizer Edwina Volz says this year is set to be the most exciting offering yet: “Market’s in May is a hugely popular event, but we wanted to exceed expectations for 2016 and give some of the biggest market names in our community the opportunity to engage a new audience and breathe new life into one of the busiest meeting spots in Sydney’s CBD.”

Whatever your passion, you will be able to find it amongst these stalls. From artisan discussions and cooking demos, to art exhibitions, sustainability workshops and market tours, each Thursday the city will come alive with a curated offering from your favourite local communities.

The first market – The Beaches Market – will run Thursday 5th May from 11am-2pm and will feature top quality artisans such as: Gwydir Grove, Black Lid, Mojo Picon, My Muffin Top, Paddy the Baker, Food & U, Yummee Gluten Free, Cha Cha Kombucha, Backa Sydney, Nougat Royale, Westmont Pickles.

The following two Thursdays will showcase The Brewery Yard Market (May 12) and Black Markets (May 19).
