The Royal family have joined forces to begin 'Heads Together' a campaign to fight the stigma attached to mental health issues.

In what has been a busy week for the royals, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge alongside brother Prince William, have joined forces to launch The Heads Together campaign – an initiative to tackle the stigma attached to mental illness.

“Through their work with young people, emergency response, homeless charities, and with veterans, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry have seen time and time again that unresolved mental health problems lie at the heart of some of our greatest social challenges,” reads a statement on the Heads Together website.

Kate, who has committed to supporting mental health initiatives throughout the UK, was joined by her husband and Prince Harry to raise awareness for the various charities they each support.

“We can all play our part by talking and listening to each other and helping each other find support,” said Harry, who has worked continuously with returning veterans to destigmatise mental health issues in the military.

Prince William addressed the cause, summarising their mission and calling for a change in conversation surrounding mental health issues.

“Let’s get our heads together and change the conversation on mental health.”

“It will be the biggest single project Their Royal Highnesses have undertaken together,” a Kensington Palace spokesman said. “The Heads Together campaign aims to change the national conversation on mental wellbeing and will be a partnership with inspiring charities with decades of experience in tackling stigma, raising awareness, and providing vital help for people with mental health challenges.”

With the support of their Royal Foundation, Harry, William and Kate will each cover different aspects of the campaign.

Kate will continue her work on youth and early childhood mental health issues, William will work on initiatives to do with cyber bullying and suicide among young men and Harry will continue to focus on the “invisible injuries” that affect veterans and current military personnel.
