Penelope Cruz and her actor husband Javier Bardem welcomed their second child into the world on Monday. Their baby girl was born at Ruber International Hospital in Madrid, where Spain’s Crown Princess Letizia gave birth to her two daughters, a hospital source confirms.
The birth was “just a few hours” after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their Prince into the world, according to AFP.
The new baby girl joins her two-year-old big brother, Leonardo Encinas Bardem.
Cruz, 39, and Bardem, 44, met as teenagers on the set of Spanish film Jamon, Jamon back in 1992 before reuniting for Woody Allen’s Vicky Christina Barcelona in 2008, for which Cruz won an Oscar for best supporting actress.
Bardem took home an Academy Award for his role in the Cohen Brothers’ 2007’s No Country for Old Men.
The couple married in July 2010 in a lowkey ceremony in the Bahamas that was reflective of their under-the-radar romance.
