Your Host

Ricky Gervais returns for a fourth time to host this year despite cringe worthy statements of previous years. Comments like “I don’t know because I can’t understand a f**king word they’re saying”, speaking of Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas, or remarking on Jodie Foster’s genitals hasn’t prevented the Hollywood Foreign Press Association from going another round with the English comedian.

Notable Presenters

Of the 47 listed presenters (it’s going to be another long night) one of particular note is Mel Gibson. Gibson unceremoniously ejected himself from the good graces of the Hollywood community with outlandish and offensive behaviour: anti-Semitic tirade, alcohol abuse and domestic violence claims.

Former flames Kate Bosworth and Orlando Bloom, who are said to be ‘friendly exes’, will be sharing the stage.

Amy Schumer, who is nominated for ‘Best Performance in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy’ alongside her highly publicised BFF (Best Friends Forever) Jennifer Lawrence, is presenting. All eyes and ears will be on the funny woman not only for her comedic genius at work in presenting but also for a potentially illuminating acceptance speech.

New mum Olivia Wilde is amongst the list of presenters. The often-irreverent actress arrived in sparkly burgundy dress with plunging neckline with actor husband Jason Sudeikis . In an Instagram post taken on the way to the ceremony Wilde is seen “flipping the bird” and says, “Most parties that start at 3pm involve bouncy castles. Don’t let us down, Hollywood. #globes”.
