The pair that first met on the set of Doug Liman’s 2005 flick Mr. & Ms. Smith announced their engagement in 2012. The wedding was a surprise to many, as just earlier this year Jolie told People magazine: “we’re not really in a rush to get married, we’re just waiting for it to be the right time with the kids, with work, when it feels right.”
The ceremony was held last Saturday at a Cheateau on Pitt and Jolie’s 1000-acre property in the southern end of France, Chateau Miraval. Strictly a family affair, the newlyweds revealed that Jolie was walked down the aisle by her two eldest, Maddox and Pax. Zahara and Vivienne gathered petals from the garden to throw at their feet, while Shiloh and Knox were the ring bearers. Other guests included Pitt’s parents, brother, sister and their kids.
Pitt and Jolie have now left France and travelled to Malta where they will commence the shooting of their film By the Sea. The romance flick will be the couple’s first time on screen together since falling in love on the 2005 spy drama that started it all.
