Pricey pizza goes under the hammer
The world's most expensive pizza is getting auctioned off in the name of charity.
BY MiNDFOOD | Aug 12, 2009

Next Monday Stella Italian Kitchen in Collaroy, northern Sydney, will auction off Australia’s most expensive pizza with 100 per cent of the proceeds being donated to Cure our Kids.

The pizza, which will consist of highly sought after shaved Australian truffle, porcini mushrooms, authentic Italian pork sausage and buffalo mozzarella, will be cooked freshly at the auction and served to the highest bidder.

Also on the night, a $45 menu will be served consisting of antipasti misto, a selection of Italian-inspired pizzas, salad and dessert with 15 per cent of the proceeds being donated to Cure our Kids.

Nick Salerno, owner of Stella Italian Kitchen, hopes the bidding will exceed the £2000 paid for a pizza in Italy, when the Award-winning Glasgow restaurateur Domenico Crolla created the Pizza Royale 007 for lawyer Maurizio Morelli and his wife Sabrina.

To be a part of this charity evening please contact Stella Italian Kitchen on 9982 2188.
