Hello readers! Welcome to MiNDFOOD's newest addition – the thinking person’s sex blog.
I’m your blogger, Jacqueline Hellyer, sex therapist and coach. Every fortnight I’ll be bringing you information on all topics sexual.
If you read about me in the June edition of MiNDFOOD you’ll know that I have a unique take on sex.
I see our sexual energy as being our fundamental life energy and our sexuality as being integral to ourselves as human beings.
For humans, sex is a function of our extraordinary brains. Not for us the reproductive loveless couplings of animals.
Oh no, we have creativity, thought, imagination and play, so we can have sex that is both intensely erotic and deeply intimate – sex that is truly sublime, sex that lifts us far above the animals and takes us closer to the realm of the angels.
Does that sound rather poetic? I hope so, because it’s the poetry of sex that makes it so extraordinary, and I believe that it is this aspect of sex that is missing in our supposedly sex-obsessed society.
You see, extraordinary sex is poetic: it has a quality of beauty and intensity of emotion that stirs the soul. That doesn’t mean it’s necessarily all pure and sweet, it can be, but it can also be wild and wicked and tap into our darker sides…
I have no wish to titillate, but I do want to tantalise, so that you prick up your ears, take heed and tap into the yearning for the exquisite sex that is our human birthright.
I’m inviting you on a journey.
Along the way we’ll learn about the biology of sex, the history of sex, the psychology, sociology, philosophy and religion of sex.
You’ll learn to enhance the erotic and the intimate, to ride the wild peaks of sex and to luxuriate in its valleys. I’ll be providing information from modern scientific research and combining this with the wisdom of ancient cultures that spent centuries studying the art of sex.
To make it real, I’ll be drawing my inspiration from the experiences of my own clients and students as they discover and grow on their own journeys towards their sexual potential.
I welcome your questions, comments and issues. No topic is taboo, and together we will develop a discussion that is intelligent, thought-provoking and inspiring.
Imagine if everyone in the world felt sexually empowered and was having great sex. The world be a calmer and saner place to live.
Until next time...
