The NSW Reconciliation Council will host a special screening of Samson and Delilah and a question and answer session as part of the NSW Reconciliation Conference program in Sydney. Writer and director Warwick Thornton will be joined by producer Kath Shelper at the end of the film to take questions from the audience. This free event will be held at Dendy Cinema, Circular Quay on the evening of Saturday November 14, 2009.
The screening of Samson and Delilah will be just one of the high points of the NSW Reconciliation Conference program with an impressive line-up of speakers.
The one-day conference will explore key contemporary themes in Indigenous Affairs and the Reconciliation movement including:
- Leadership in reconciliation and the new model for the National Indigenous Representative Body
- Grassroots reconciliation and building peoples movements
- Reconciliation in action in communities
- Reconciliation in the digital age
Samson and Delilah will be Australia’s official entry for nomination consideration for Best Foreign Language Film at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards.
