MiNDFOOD: What does your Natural Beauty and Energy Healing work encompass?

I have studied Crystal Healing, Polarity Balancing, Touch for Health, RAW (Rekindled Ancient Wisdom) and the Diamond Approach. And it is my intense belief in the balance and flow of energy and how it contributes to our overall wellbeing that led me to combine these principals into Facial Radiance.

What is a Facial Radiance treatment?

Facial Radiance is a treatment for your face, head and neck reducing and preventing the ageing process by releasing stress dramatically and bringing your whole self back into the process.  It involves working with the energy and systems of the whole body which results in a deeply relaxing treatment and the release our facial tension.

How did this type of treatment come about?

This technique was first introduced by Stanley Rosenburg (Face-lifting Massage) who believes, “Your face is the mirror of your soul” … and that through the process of releasing our old facial tensions, we free up new reserves of physical, mental and emotional energy. When psychologists try to find out what most people consider to be essential for a beautiful or handsome face, three qualities are often mentioned: that the face is relaxed, symmetrical, and lively. By “lively”, they mean that the face changes responsively and without conscious control when you communicate with another.

How does it work?

The one hour long treatment works with the meridians and muscles of the head and face. By releasing tension held in the deeper layers where connective tissue is composed of living cells, collagen and elastic fibres.

These contain many small blood vessels that carry nourishment to the skin cells in the outermost layer. Tension in this layer can press these fine blood vessels and thus prevent the nourishment to reach up to the living skin cells in the outer layer.

If these skin cells become starved, the skin dries out and loses its vital appearance.

How is it different to a traditional facial?

During the one hour of a Facial Radiance treatment the focus is on releasing tension, toning the muscles and hydrating the skin.

Why don’t you use any oils or lotions during the treatment?

This is to remind the skin and body to function at its optimum level which does not require creams and oils.

However this treatment can be used in conjunction with a traditional facial and can  in some cases speed up the re hydration on a mature skin.

What effect does it have on the skin?

It helps to create an even skin tone that is soft and hydrated.  Overall fine lines diminish, and deeper lines soften.  Eyes appear clear, relaxed and more open. By eliminating the accumulated stress from your skin and muscles, your face will lift and look more relaxed.  You will enjoy a more vibrant and healthier skin!

What are your three top skincare tips?

Beauty from the inside out!   Nutrition, water and protection from the elements!

Stress reduction and relaxation.....it is now a scientific fact that stress is the largest contributor to aging!
