After having an inspiring conversation with Al Gore a decade ago, Leonardo DiCaprio established a Foundation in 1998 to actively raise awareness of environmental issues.
In 2001 he was honoured with the Martin Litton Environmental Warrior Award for his green work. Nowadays, DiCaprio drives a hybrid car, has solar panels on his house, uses filtered water and buys organic produce.
He has also produced and narrated a documentary, The 11th Hour, which explores our impact on the Earth’s ecosystems.
