The love of the great outdoors combined with the desire to bring a '50s chair back into popular New Zealand culture was the driving force behind the designer Liz Kerby and lifelong friend and print artist Philippa Bentley to collaborate and create the unique Flutter Dragonfly Chairs.
Flutter Design has evolved the classic NZ 'Safari' chair by John Crichton with an ergonomic redesign and the use of top-quality UV resistant outdoor fabrics and inks.
It was the perfect canvas for Bentley to make two original signed artworks based on the delicate dragonfly.
Bentley is a New Zealand based print artist with a growing local & international reputation for her insect prints inspired by her love of our native fauna.
The hand screened Drangonfly series, incorporating a family of designs centred around the delicate dragonfly, can be can be styled as a pair or teamed up with matching Flutter plain covers.
Like all Flutter frames and covers they can be used both inside and out.
Made locally, the creations are now available in a range of fashion colours for $555.
