When Camden Eubank asked his mother for a big birthday party, panic ensued. For Camden has a speech delay condition called Apraxia which means he has been home-schooled to help treat the condition. As such Camden doesn’t have many friends, certainly not enough to fulfil his fantasy of having a party with 2000 water balloons and lots of other kids.
So his mother Tracey decided to create a public Facebook event inviting members of the community to help celebrate Camden’s special day.
“I know all kids should learn disappointment in life – but sometimes other kids are so cruel…I am extending an open invitation to anyone with kids that wants to come throw some water balloons with one awesome little boy.”
After Eubank posted the invitation on the page of the CHERAB foundation – a nonprofit speech disorder support group, the president Lisa Geng encouraged Eubanks to share her invitation outside of her inner community.
Soon enough, the post went viral and roughly 300 people turned up to Camden’s party to celebrate with him.
Camden also received gifts from strangers across the world after they heard of his beautiful story.
