The Australian Ballet announce 2016

The Australian Ballet presents its 2016 Season: The Power To Transform

The Australian Ballet announce 2016

The Australian ballet has announced an incredible new season. With the introduction of original, contemporary works along side an evocative re-telling of timeless classics, the 2016 season is sure to excite and engage.

From the heart –wrenching classic Swan Lake, the spectacular retelling of a Ballet Russes Star in Nijinsky and the explosive movement in the contemporary triple bill Vitesse, you’re invited to experience the transformative beauty and power of ballet.

Artistic Director David Mcallister and Executive Director Libby Christie have devoted this season to the ephemeral theme of transformation, exploring the fantasy and the magic of the make-believe.

“Ballet is transformative. The moment our dancers step on stage, they become fearless and fantastic story tellers, where bodies move with witless grace and the wildest tales seem real. Audiences are taken to new worlds of sweeping movement, blossoming colour and spine tingling scores. Ballet creates a special place where time stands still and possibilities flourish,” says David McAllister.
