Fashion Designer's mastectomy bra helps patients heal while still feeling feminine.

Stella McCartney has designed a new post mastectomy bra with the unique needs of double mastectomy patients in mind, in tribute to her late mother Linda.

McCartney’s mother died from breast cancer in 1998, only three years after her diagnosis. She has named the undergarment ‘Louise Listening’, using Linda’s middle name.

The compression bra offers the functionality you might find in other post-surgery bras, but keeps the emotional need of women in mind too. The delicate, feminine piece of lingerie is still beautiful unlike many other utilitarian bras. While many bras on the market come in dull colours like tan or clinical white, McCartney’s design is a soft, pretty rose-color with an edgy front zip.

The bra retails for a steep AU$185 but proceeds will go towards supporting women with breast cancer at the Hello Beautiful Foundation.
