Sheer Heights
China's latest attraction cracks under pressure just weeks into it opening.

Just recently opened, the U-Shaped platform, attached to a side of the cliff face on Yuntai Mountain, Henan Province, has been re-closed for further renovations.

Just weeks after announcing its re-furbishment, tourists were shocked when the glass began splintering under their feet.

A women shared photos on social media of what is believed to be the site of the broken glass.

According to Daily Mail, the photo was accompanied by text that read: [I’ve] just witnessed history. The glass-bottomed walkway on Yuntai Mountain just cracked. When I was about to reach the end [of the passage], I heard a sudden bang and felt a shake under my feet.

“I looked down and saw the glass floor beneath me shattered. [I have] no idea why it happened, at that moment everybody was screaming.

“I yelled out loud “It cracked, it really cracked!, then pushed the people in front of me to leave. [I was] terrified.”

Suspended over 1000 metres above sea level, you wouldn’t want to be standing on the bridge when a splinter led to a giant crack.

Would you brave the bridge when it reopens?
