Sharing your food pics, can now feed those in need #mealforameal
The #mealforameal campaign calls on us to share food with those less fortunate by sharing our food pics online.

Next time you’re dining out, don’t put your phone away. Yes you read that right! Mobiles are ubiquitous at restaurants these days, with many of us  loving to snap and post pictures of our meals, almost as much eating them.

Virgin Australia have teamed up with the always inspiring OzHarvest for the innovative #mealforameal initiative. By posting our food porn to Instagram or Pinterest with the hashtag #mealforameal, Australian smartphone users can get turn their images into real meals for those in need.

Every time a meal is shared on social media with the hashtag #mealforameal Virgin Mobile will donate to OzHarvest so they can deliver a real meal to someone in need. Virgin Mobile is aiming to deliver 400,000 meals through OzHarvest with its #mealforameal campaign.

Many celebrity chefs are already in on the act, such as celebrated French Chef Guilliame Brahimi. He said, “I’m always on my mobile taking pictures of food. When you consider that Virgin Mobile is turning every food picture – good and bad – into a real meal for someone less fortunate, why wouldn’t you start posting everything you’re eating? Come on Australia, every meal counts.”

So whether you’re cooking something simple or dining at the best place in town, be sure to post your food pics with the #mealforameal hashtag. Then put your mobile away and talk to your dinner companion!
