Pizza app helps woman escape
The quick thinking of a woman being held hostage by her armed boyfriend saw her being rescued after she used a pizza ordering app to ask for help.

A woman being held hostage by her armed boyfriend in Florida managed to raise the alarm using a Pizza Hut ordering app on her phone.

Cheryl Treadway and her three children were allegedly being held against their will in their home by her boyfriend who was armed with a large knife. He had reportedly taken her phone away from her but let it use it momentarily after she convinced him to allow her to order a pizza. She placed her order using the app and added the words “Please help, get 911 to me” in the comments section. Staff raised the alarm and police were immediately sent to the address. The boyfriend has been charged with several offences including battery and false imprisonment.
