Paris Fashion Week So Far

Out-there Trend: Human Backpacks

Never one to toe the line, fashion’s master of runway controversy, Rick Owens, sent human backpacks down the catwalk. We’ve got to commend the models – and the human backpacks – for managing to keep a straight face.

Chloé Goes Sporty Spice

Like it or not, according to the runway at Chloé luxe sportswear isn’t going anywhere. Designer Clare Waight Keller not only sent retro-inspired tracksuits down the catwalk, she paired sweaters straight out of the 70s with flowing floral maxi skirts.

Model of the Moment: The White Pony at Jacquemus

Move over models, there’s a new show pony on the scene. Designer Simon Porte Jacquemus – who’s known for using the catwalk was an opportunity to blur the lines between art and fashion – opened his Spring/Summer show by sending his 10-year-old cousin down the runway in an oversized shirt rolling a giant ball of red fabric. Midway through the show, the designer himself walked the runway with a white pony.

#PattakesParis

Legendary make-up artist Pat McGrath is launching her own make-up line later this month and if beauty insiders weren’t already hyped enough about the announcement, they are now. McGrath and an 35-strong army of make-up artists took over Paris Fashion Week giving willing passers-by a makeover with her highly anticipated gold pigment.

Five Minutes With Elizabeth Hurley

MiNDFOOD catches up with actress and model Elizabeth Hurley, and finds out what her beauty secrets are.

You’re a mum with a busy career that often involves travel. How do you manage a balanced and healthy lifestyle when you’re on the go?

I like food in its simple state. I always try to start the day by drinking a large glass of warm water before I do anything else. When I’m on the go, I have small packets of unsalted almonds and walnuts in my bag to snack on so I’m not tempted by junk.

Tell us about your own beauty regimen. Can you share some of your beauty secrets with us?

My grandmother told me that fresh air at night was very important and if I sleep with the windows closed, I wake up looking washed out and with puffy eyes. I’ve been using Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair twice a day for 20 years and would hate to be without it. I also have pots of moisturizer on my desk and in the car and apply frequently. Modern life is very dehydrating and I find my skin drinks it in.

How do you maintain a confident and positive outlook on your own beauty and on life in general?

Over the years, I find I care more about my health than my looks-although the two often go hand in hand. If I eat well, exercise and try to keep happy I know I look better. Brisk walks and avoiding junk and processed foods seem to make me better mentally and physically.
