Eighty was the average age of the models who posed for Karen Walker’s summer 2013 eyewear collection. Now the designer has gone to the other end of the age spectrum for her Karen Walker Forever second summer release for 2013 using models aged between three and five.
Walker says it represents the second chapter of the collection, originally shot by New York blogger Ari Seth Cohen. Who better to continue that sense of unbridled optimism and excitement for the future than a bunch of kids? “Kids and mature women are worlds apart in age but this group share a thread of optimism and happiness that excites us,” says Walker.
The eight-piece capsule features graphic white and gold metal frames with metallic blue reflective lenses that draws inspiration from cartoons, and includes four new styles – Siouxsie, Underground, Rowdy and Peek-A-Boo.
The range will be in store from September 5.
