Sydney girl Branca Delic could well be Bon Jovi’s biggest fan. Having chased the artist halfway across the world, she started an online petition in August and rallied media support, begging her idol to walk her down the aisle at her (then) upcoming nuptials in Las Vegas. Delic had purposely scheduled her wedding on the same weekend that the band would be in town to play at the MGM Grand.
“We’re begging you … make this wedding happen,” she wrote. “There is plenty of time in the afternoon for you to come and walk her down the aisle before the show. We’re living on a prayer and we want you to come lay your hands on me and walk me down the aisle!”
To Delic’s complete joy, Jon rocked up on the big day sporting a casual white shirt and jeans. The bride was wearing a white dress, red shoes and carrying a black bouquet. The ceremony took place at the famed Graceland Wedding Chapel where Bon Jovi himself exchanged vows with his high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley in 1989.
Afterwards, Jon tweeted a photo of he and Delic via his Twitter, congratulating the newlyweds.
“Congratulations @branksd! May you & Gonzalo [Cladera] have a lifetime of happiness, love & memories together – ALWAYS!” he wrote. Branca wrote back, “Thanks, Jon. You’re an amazing human being for taking the time with us. See you in Sydney #championbloke.”
