Handmade by Little Creatures

An exhibition and performance in the art of craft, from the makers of great craft beer, part of Sydney Craft Beer Week.

Handmade by Little Creatures

Little Creatures are celebrating Sydney Craft Beer Week in their usual unconventional style. The home-grown Australian beer team has collaborated with Sydney’s aMBUSH Gallery in Waterloo to create an exhibition showcasing an impressive range of artists, craftsmen and designers.

The exhibition celebrates Little Creatures dedication to originality and authenticity in beer craftsmanship and creatively tells the story of their grassroots heritage and ethos. These concepts will be tangible as the artists create a multilayered encounter true to their original craft. Both will tell their stories.

Kicking off Friday 25 October at 6pm, the exhibition continues over the weekend, where you can explore everything from tattoo art, sculpture and sign-writing, to floral works inspired by Little Creatures’ ingredients. Custom T-shirts, cranking DJs and much more awaits the curious – be you beer adorer, arts follower, music lover or culture vulture. The exhibition space itself includes artists working across eight handmade disciplines.

Illustrations, photographs and video installation of tattoos designed and inked by Sprinkles, sculptures by Jane Gillings who works entirely with recycled material, a floral installation by Flourish, and sign-writing works by painter and muralist Numskull reveal the depth of handcrafts thriving in the creative arts.

On Friday’s opening night, the audience themselves will have a hand in creating a bottle installation designed by Nowhere Famous. As the night wears on and the Little Creatures beer flows, empty bottles will be placed in the artwork and all will be revealed.

HIT+RUN Australia – the world’s leader in live screen-printing, will also be collaborating with six artists including Ben Brown, Marcus Dixon and Cryptik to produce custom T-shirts on Friday night. Take home your very own one-of-a-kind free tee with 200 tees being created for the exhibition. It’s first in best dressed. Literally.

To set the tone for the night, DJ group Pilarties will be spinning vinyl in the gallery from 6- 8pm, and a special music guest will perform live from 8pm onwards. Handmade opens at aMBUSH Gallery on Friday 25 October from 6-9pm and continues on Saturday and Sunday from 12-4pm.
