French women toss bras for breast cancer
French women have littered the most famous Parisian skyline with their bras to raise awareness of breast cancer.

Off with their….bras?

Hundreds of French women threw their bras into the air as part of the 5th annual Pink Bra Spring and Bra toss in front of the Eiffel Tower Paris this week.

The event aims to raise awareness of women’s health issues and ‘push up’ the fight against breast cancer and is organised by Pink Bazzar – a charity dedicated to breast health education and supporting women diagnosed with breast cancer

Together with burlesque dancers, the event, choreographed by Marco Avallone and Julia Palombe, highlighted the importance of women getting regular breast check-up’s and performing self-examinations.

Organizers said the unique performance, which saw a rainbow of coloured bras soar across the Parisian skyline, was an important step to encourage all women to play an active role in their health.

“By throwing a bra, women renew their commitment to making the right health decisions for themselves and their loved ones,” a statement on the event website reads.
