Drop of the Week: de Beaurepaire Le Chevalier Merlot Cabernet Petit Verdot 2013
An elegant French-style wine for your relaxing weekend.

We are indeed “a taste of France in Australia”. This fits in with the family’s historical roots in Burgundy.

–Richard de Beaurepaire, Managing Director de Beaurepaire Wines

De Beaurepaire Wines has a 53 HA vineyard at Rylstone in Central West NSW. The temperature, soil chemistry and structure is unique in Australia for the winery and exactly replicates conditions in Champagne and Burgundy.

The de Beaurepaire Le Chevalier Merlot Cabernet Petit Verdot 2013 is a perfect example of a Bordeaux blend exhibiting the typical characteristics of top French wines – elegance, structure, lower alcohol levels, food friendly and suited to long term bottle improvement.

The colour is a vibrant red with purple hues & displays ripe red berry & blackcurrant aromas. The palate is long with berry, chocolate & spice characters with integrated French oak, & has a soft, ripe & balanced tannin finish.

Try this flavoursome French-style wine with stronger cheeses like Rocquefort, Camembert or Brie or have over a delectable dinner of Cote de Boeuf or Paulliac Lamb.

This wine and many other French-styles are sold online, and are rapidly penetrating top restaurants and bars, plus a few selected specialist wine outlets. The wines can be tasted by appointment at the vineyard in Rylstone.
