Cate Blanchett

One entertainment reporter has learnt his lesson not to ask silly questions after Cate Blanchett interview goes wrong.

Never one to shy away from standing her ground, Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett latest run-in with an entertainment reporter has gone viral.

The actress appears to lash out at an entertainment reporter during an interview on a recent ‘Cinderella’ press junket.

You can’t help but cringe as you watch the interviewer, Joanathan Hyla, bumble through the process.

The interview got off to a rocky start when Hyla suggests that he should have brought Blanchett ‘a six pack of beers’ to break the ice.

“I do not drink beers,” she responds. The embarrassed reporter then attempts to steer the conversation back to the film “let’s start over.”

But the next question goes down like a lead boat. “Serious question. How did you get that cat to do what you wanted it to, on a leash. I tried to put my girlfriends cat on a leash and it just never works for me.”

“That’s your question? That’s your f*%^#!$ question?” Blanchett remarks clearly not amused, before ending the interview by remarking “It was nice to meet you.”

The awkward interview was aired on Australian TV show The Project and has since been causing a buzz all over the world.

It’s not the first time Blanchett has been in the spotlight for her sassy remarks. Only recently, whilst on the red carpet for a Hollywood awards ceremony, the actress questioned another entertainment reporter after she was asked who she was wearing. “Do you ever ask the men that question?”she responds after telling the reporter she is wearing Givenchy.

The event as one in a series that sparked #AskHerMore, an initiative on social media against the often sexist and embarrassing questions asked of actresses on the red carpet.
