Arts festival a spectrum of music, arts and kooky talks

The latest program for the Spectrum Now Festival, on in Sydney from March 1 and 16, has just been released. The festival is one of a number of arts festivals that are reinvigorating Sydney city precincts and getting locals and guests out and about in the vibrant city.

The program’s cultural ambassadors are a group of all star Austrlian sweethearts in the fields of visual arts, music, stag and screen: Del Kathryn Barton (Art), Megan Washington (Music), David Campbell (Stage) and Charlie Pickering (Talks).

Performing in the Big Top @ The Domain are crowd drawing artists and bands like: The Jesus and Mary Chain (UK), Birds of Tokyo, Calexico (USA), popular SBS TV show RocKwiz Live, Augie March, Missy Higgins and Jonathan Boulet.

Alongside the music line-up is a collection of free entertainment and arts events over the 11 nights and plenty of opportunities to drink, eat and even learn a thing or two.

MiNDFOOD’s top event picks:

  • Big Top @ The Domain – March 3 to 13.
  • Robert Bose’s Balloon Chain, a floating helium sculpture made from dozens of latex balloons.
  • Pillow Talk, celebrated creative couples talk intimately about their lives together. Couples include David and Kristin Williamson, David and Lisa Campbell, Richard Tognetti and Satu Vänskä.
  • Cultural Crush, pre-eminent journalists cross-examine their dream interviewee.
