A miraculous rescue of a 101 year-old man in Nepal is one of the few good news stories

A 101 year-old man has been pulled, barely harmed, from the rubble of last week’s devastating earthquake in Nepal.

Funchu Tamang, who lives in the Nuwakot district about 80 kilometres north west of Kathmandu, was rescued on the weekend with only minor injuries the local police office Arun Kumar Singh told ABC News.

“He has injuries on his left ankle and hand. His family is with him,” Singh said.

Three other women were also rescued in the region, one of the worst hit.

The earthquake has so far claimed the lives of more than 7000 people, with more than 14, 000 injured.
